A seasoned banker of 45 years of international banking experience with CitiBank, The British Bank of the Middle East and Jordan National Bank. Advisor on corporate credit facilities, banking operations and Audit.
Who We Are
Mr. Hagop Banayan, ACIB - Senior Consultant
Holder of the Associateship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in England.
Mr. Banayan has over 40 years of experience as a senior top level executive in the HSBC Jordan during which he held, amongst his other important responsibilities, the post of the corporate banking manager. He was also the CEO of the Export and Finance Bank (currently named the Capital Bank).
As a senior strategist with a vast banking experience, Hagop will lead the JSCS' strategic planning and risk management team.
Mr. Yacoub E. Sifri, AR LSE, CDCS - Senior Consultant
Holder of the Banking Certificate of the Jordanian Institute of Banking Studies and a current LSE banking student.
12 years of banking experience with HSBC Bank during which he held various middle management positions in the trade finance, corporate and retail sections of the bank.
The author of three books on letters of credit namely; "Standby Letters of Credit, A Comprehensive Guide", "Checking LCs Documents" and "The UCP600 In Theory and Practice". The first book was published by Palgrave Macmillan in UK and is currently being sold around the world.
Sifri is our senior consultant on trade finance operations, private/premier customers' operations, securities, retail/personal banking operations, corporate banking operations and consumer finance.
Ziad Mohammad al Basha, B.Sc - Senior Consultant
During his 9 years of service at the HSBC Bank Middle East in Jordan, Ziad has occupied the positions of the Executive Manager for the Custody and Clearing Division (Securities Department), the Corporate Relationship Manager and the Investment Manager consecutively. Further, Ziad has developed the first Custody and Clearing Department (Securities Department - CNC) in the Middle East and assisted in setting up 6 area departments covering Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. He also played a major role in Jordan's first London Exchange listing for the Arab Potash Company Global Depository Receipt (GDR) and Jordan’s first corporate Euro-issue bond with Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (Floating Rate Bond FRN).
